Insurance

I am an out-of-network Provider and are not covered by HMO insurance plans. However, you PPO insurance carrier may be able to provide you with a super-bill form to fill out at the end of each session (or accumulation of a number of sessions), in order to get your insurance carrier reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or partially by your health care plan or employee benefit plan.  It is recommended that you call your insurance carrier and find out about your coverage ahead of time.

The psychotherapy relationship is a confidential process protected by law. The progress and challenges that clients face during the course of therapy are best worked out in a collaborative and private manner between client and psychotherapist. Be mindful that by asking me to share information with your insurance provider, your privacy may be compromised. Moreover, your insurance provider will require a mental health diagnosis from me as your psychotherapist, which becomes permanent information on your medical record. This may affect your eligibility and coverage with other insurance companies in the future. I have chosen not to work directly with insurance companies for the protection of my clients' privacy.

Cancellation Policy

It is the responsibility of the client to notify the office 48 HOURS PRIOR to a scheduled appointment that cannot be kept.

A missing appointment or not notifying your counselor/coach of your cancellation will result in the full cost of the session as booked. Please, be mindful that when an appointment is made, the time has been reserved for you. If you fail to keep this appointment, it prevents your counselor/coach from treating another client in need of his or her services. Failure to pay for booking fees will automatically be sent to a collection agency at the end of a grace period.

PRIVATE POLICY & CONFIDENTIALITY

The law in California protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without the client's written permission. However, there are some limitations to confidentiality, which include: Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately. If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim. If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
